Sgt. Alfonso Lopez
It is with tremendous sadness that we report the death of yet another Los Angeles County peace officer, Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Al Lopez. Sgt Lopez was killed while responding to a report of a stolen vehicle. Although it cannot yet be confirmed, initial reports indicate that Sgt. Lopez leaves a wife and children. Our deepest condolences are extended to Sgt. Lopez’ family, friends, and brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

Sgt. Steve Owen
It is with great sadness that we report the death of Sgt. Steve Owen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. This terrible tragedy clearly strengthens our resolve and reinforces our desire to support the victims of these senseless acts. Our deepest and most sincere condolences go out to Sgt. Owen’s family, friends and law enforcement brothers and sisters.
